Auction Rules

Bidding Process

When you place a bid you enter into a legal binding contract to purchase the vehicle if you win the auction.  If you are OUTBID, you will need to place a new higher bid on the vehicle to ensure you win the auction. When the auction receives a bid with less than 1 minute remaining befor the end of the auction, the auction will automatically extend for 3 minutes. Again, if another bid is placed with 1 minute of the auction end time, it will be automatically extended for another 3 minutes. The winning bidder will be the highest bidder once the auction has ended.

Listing Process

Once your vehicle has been listed, you are agreeing to sell it to the highest bidder equal to, or in excess of the reserve price. You will be sent an email each time your vehicle has had a bid placed, when it has hit the reserve price and at the end of the auction.

Pulling/Cancelling an auction

Once you have listed a vehicle to sell on MotoBidder.com you are entering into a legal binding contract to sell it to the highest bidder equal to, or in excess of the reserve price.  It is not ‘good practice’ to pull an auction.
If, for any reason you wish to pull an auction, this can be done via the “My account” section. Listings can not be pulled if the bidding has matched or exceeded the reserve price, or if there is less than 1 hour remaining before the end of the auction.

Subject to agreeing this with us in writing first, we may in certain circumastances, allow you to terminate a listing that has met its reserve but has not yet reached its end time .  Please note that the circumstances in which we will allow this are very limited (for example, if a vehicle is being made available through another channel at the same time that it is listed on MotoBidder.com) and whether we allow you to do this is entirely at our disretion.  Where we have agreed that you may terminate listings, you will need to contact us at cancellations@motobidder.com to terminate a specific listing.  It is your responsibility to ensure that we have received and actioned your request before the aution end time and we will not be liable to you for any failure to do so. You must include in your listing a warning that the listing may be withdrawn prior to the auction end time, even if the reserve has been reached, and that all bids will be deemed to have been cancelled if the listing is withdrawn. You will be charged the £25+VAT fee if we agree to cancel your auction as we will consider this vehicle SOLD.
